Email billing unit, per-channel tier structure, and how volume-based pricing works for email sends.
Email billing is straightforward on the unit level: every send — action-based (MESSAGE) or subscription (NEWSLETTER) — is a Basic Message, regardless of HTML length, number of images, or layout complexity. There is no Basic/Single split for email. That distinction exists only for RCS.
Email has its own independent tier separate from RCS and SMS. Your email send volume only counts toward your email tier — it does not affect your RCS or SMS pricing, and vice versa. As your monthly email volume grows, the per-message price decreases through volume tiers. Email has more pricing tiers than RCS, reflecting the higher volumes typical of email marketing workloads.
Current email tier thresholds and prices are visible in the Billing section of your dashboard. Pricing updates as you cross thresholds — mid-month upgrades apply from the next message sent.
Deliverability work — domain authentication, bounce handling, suppression — affects whether email reaches the inbox. It does not change the billing unit. A failed delivery costs zero; a delivered one costs one Basic Message unit.See Email capabilities for suppression, bounce handling, and unsubscribe.
