The channel system exposes three message types: MESSAGE, CONVERSATION, NEWSLETTER. The billing system maps them to Basic, Single, Conversation, and MAU using channel type and content rules. Each channel (email, RCS, SMS) has its own independent tier — volume on one channel does not affect pricing on another.

Important notes

RCS newsletter MAU is a subscriber charge — a single flat charge per unique subscribed user per agent per calendar month. It fires on the first send of the month to that subscriber and covers all subsequent sends at no additional cost. For tier volume, MAU contributes 1 per unique subscriber per month regardless of how many days you sent to them. Sends are still limited to one per day per subscriber. RCS newsletter daily limit — you can send at most one message per day per subscriber. A second send to the same subscriber on the same day is rejected. Newsletter must be enabled on the agent — standard agent approval does not automatically allow NEWSLETTER sends. See RCS agents. Email has no Basic vs Single split — all email is Basic Message regardless of content. Email does not have MAU billing. Email send types — the MESSAGE and NEWSLETTER types map to friendly send type names (action-based and subscription respectively) to make intent clearer. Future email types (such as conversational email) will extend this table. SMS send is coming soon. Phone numbers (Mobile and Landline) can be purchased via the dashboard today — see SMS overview.
